Hey guys, here's one of the articles that i wrote for my co-op's newsletter!! Enjoy!!!
Co-op Field Day-
Summer vacation is one of the best times of the year. No school, no homework, no worrying about report cards. But unfortunately, summer has to come to an end. Children have to return to school, their fun over until next summer-Unless you go to the Upstate Home-school Co-op.
Every year after the summer, a few weeks onto the school year, Co-op director Susanne Brown hosts an event called “Field Day” at her house. This event consists of several physical activities, and students of all ages are allowed to compete. The activities for the Elementary students include a Crab Walk, 50-yard Run, a Long Jump, and a Baseball Throw. Middle/High-school students do more physically demanding activities such as Soccer, football, volleyball, or a Batting Cage.
When Field Day officially starts, Elementary students compete in a couple of events. After those events, everybody eats dinner. After dinner, the rest of the Elementary events are completed, the Batting Cage is opened, and Soccer, Football, and Volleyball commence. When all of the events all finished, everybody eats dessert, and the awards are handed out.
Some of the top competitors are Sam brown, Lucus Miles, Julia Alix, Leah Hurley, and Savannah Hall. All of the students who competed are fantastic athletes, and they are all winners, no matter what.
